Review: Dragon Meets Girl

Dragon Meets Girl Dragon Meets Girl by Terry Bolryder
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The second book in the Forgotten Dragon series focuses on Xander now that his twin Tristan has found a mate. They have also found that they don't have to fear the Oracle as they were once told and are learning to live in this world in harmony with the other dragons that patrol the area, commonly called the double dragons.

Janet has always held her own and she thinks Xander is a playboy and wants nothing to do with him, but Xander is sure she is meant for him. Can he win her over? And how will she react to his being a dragon.

Review: Dragon Next Door

Dragon Next Door Dragon Next Door by Terry Bolryder
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

First book in the Forgotten Dragons series.

Twin Dragons, Tristan and Xander have been outcasts all their lives, and so they have moved from place and kept hidden, until now when Tristan runs into Kelsie and knows that she is his mate. Now to wow her and slowly introduce her to the world of dragons.

Author Terry Bolryder is a genius at animal/shifter novels and Dragons are one that she focuses on. This series actually follows the Bad Dragons Series, although you don't see any of the characters from that series, they are mentioned in the book and so it is evident that this series comes after it.

Review: Hex to the No

Hex to the No Hex to the No by Constance Barker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hex to the No is the continuing story of Lilith Blackward, the book cleanly picks up right were book 1 left off and proceeds to give you more of the story and what is happening.

Lilith is clearly feeling betrayed at this point, her own parents are part of, if not the leaders of the Cold Dawn Cult that she was asked to investigate, although the whole reason why she was asked to investigate is still a mystery. Now she has a lot of soul searching to do as well as uncovering more and more about this Cult and putting a stop to them.

This book is well written and a quick read. It builds on book one and looks to be continuing in book three. There is no way to read these books other than in order because they end abruptly and start right up again, there is no recapping of the previous book at all.

Review: What the Hex

What the Hex What the Hex by Constance Barker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What the Hex is the first book in a new series about a young witch named Lilith Blackward. Lilith is extraordinarily bright and accomplished for her age, yet when she performs a complicated spell for her sixteenth birthday things go wrong and she see's her possible death.

Fast forward a few years and Lilith is making her own life when she is asked to investigate a cult, but something is fishy about it from the get go. Around every turn something new is revealed and life as Lilith has known it is turned up side down.

This is a wonderful start to a new novel, there is none of the typical boy-meets-girl romance, it's all about Lilith and her desire to make something of herself in this world. I am really excited to read the next book and see what happens!

Review: The Ghost Who Ate Grits

The Ghost Who Ate Grits The Ghost Who Ate Grits by Amy Boyles
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Ghost Who Ate Grits is the third book in the Southern Ghost Wranglers series. It continues to follow Blissful as she adjusts to life in Haunted Hollow and not working for the Ghost Takers team.

Author Amy Boyles is also the author of the Sweet Tea Witches series as well as this series. So in this book, the leads from the Sweet Tea Witches, Axel Reign and Pepper Dunn make an appearance in Haunted Hollow and help Bliss and Roan with the latest ghost that seems intent on evil.

This book also continues the relationship with Roan and Bliss and sees it take new turns as well as learning more about Roan's history.

Review: Soul Food Spirits

Soul Food Spirits Soul Food Spirits by Amy Boyles
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

All her life Blissful has trained to take over for her father, to be the leader of the Ghost Team, a secret team of ghost hunters that helped mischievous ghosts cross over. After her father's death, her job as team leader was given to someone else and Bliss is mad, now she has to prove herself to get her job back.

Bliss heads to the second most haunted town in America and her job is to find an elusive ghost and get her job back. Of course nothing goes as planned and Bliss ends up finding out things about her job, her new boss and her father that she was never expecting. Now what to do.

This is a wonderful new series, it starts off with a different premise than a number of books in this genre and builds to a different climax. There is still a lot for Bliss to explore, the truth about her old job, her father and the woman who slept her way into the job promised to Bliss. There is also a lot for Bliss to learn about ghosts and what her purpose truly is.

Review: Alpha's Blood

Alpha's Blood Alpha's Blood by Renee Rose
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Mix a little adventure, vampires, shifters, blackmail, and bdsm and you have Alpha's Blood.

Lucius is the Vampire King, he has been around forever and has been the subject of may a coup attempts, this time his foe, Xavier decides to use a female shifter as his bait.

Selene has been selected and trained for one purpose only, to endure any amount of pain, to kill Lucius. Problem is that Lucius is not at all what she has been told.

There is a great deal of sex and bdsm in this book, so if you aren't fine with reading that then you might want to skip this book.
